With the ranking HTML in place, a website is now monitored and will be ranked based on the number of unique visitor. The unique visitor counter will be resetted every week.

Summary:
BlogFlux is a pretty good catch considering the fact that their services are FREE. Apart from giving you the opportunity to increase your blog traffic, the facilities offered by BlogFlux for registered users are immense. In addition, BlogFlux simple site design allows easy navigation for their members.

Blog Catalog - Blogging Community

The first question that I ask when I stumble upon BlogCatalog.com was what does BlogCatalog has to offer me? A quick look at BlogCatalog’s homepage leads me to a brief definition of BlogCatalog:

What is BlogCatalog actually?

Blog Catalog is the premiere social blog directory on the internet. Whether you're looking to promote your own blog or find blogs on various topics, this site is for you.

With BlogCatalog clearly stating that they give the opportunity for members to promote their blogs, I decided to give BlogCatalog a try. After registering myself with BlogCatalog, I was given the option to submit my blog for approval by BlogCatalog. Apart from free blog submission, BlogCatalog also offers a number of other free services:

1. Manage Your Blog
-> BlogCatalog provides you with statistics on the number of views, hits and the rank of your blog

2. Create A Widget
-> BlogCatalog allows you to add and customize widget for your own blog.
-> You can choose to add the "Recent Viewers", "My Neighborhood" or/and "Discussion" widget to your blog.
-> Take a look at the "Recent Viewers" widget that I have added to my sidebar.

3. Joining A Group in BlogCatalog
-> By joining a particular group in BlogCatalog, you are given the opportunity to build your online social network as well as promote your blog to others who share the same interest as you.
-> You are allowed to join a group only after your blog has been approved by BlogCatalog.

Whether BlogCatalog would help increase traffic to my blog remains a question for now. I shall see the outcome in weeks to come and provide a second review on the effectiveness of BlogCatalog. The plus point I see here from joining BlogCatalog would come in the form of their Group section. Promoting your blog in a group that shares the same interest would increase the chances of boosting your blog's viewership.
