Showing posts with label YouTube. Show all posts

This is not simple copy and paste the embed YouTube code to your blog post. This is something different as it involves placing a YouTube video bar on your blog page. I wonder why YouTube does not make this function known to their users. Well now that the secret is out (ha ha), I hope you'll enjoy adding this video bar to your blog layout. Lets start first with a screen shot of the video bar customization page.

Followed of course by a short description on what customizations are allowed for your video bar.

1)Orientation
The vertical video bar displays 8 videos while the horizontal bar displays 4 videos. The size of the horizantal video bar is equal to that of a normal 468 x 60 banner, making it easy for you to display the video bar right below a banner of that size in your blog.

2)Popular Channels
You can determine what kind of videos to be on display on your video bar. Say you wish that the "Recently Featured Videos" should be displayed on your video bar, just place a check on that box and proceed to generate the code. Your video bar will then automate itself to update whenever they are new vides added to the "Recently Featured Videos" category.

3)YouTube Channels
If Popular Channels are not your taste and you wish to have more relevant videos to be on display. You can use the YouTube Channels function. Uncheck all boxes in the Popular Channels category. Enter the channel that you like and the video bar will display videos that are categorized under that channel.
Here's a list of channels from YouTube.

4)Search Expression
This is for more specific content that you want your video bar to display. Say your blog is about Britney Spears, you can enter the keywords Britney Spears in the Search Expression and your video bar will show videos related to that search. If you wish to use the Search Expression option, please uncheck all boxes in the "Popular Channels" and leave the "YouTube Channels" blank.

Once you're done customizing your video bar, click on the Show Code button. Copy the generated code and use it for your blog. For New Blogger blogspot users, all you need to do is to go to your Layout, Add an Element, select HTML/Javascript and paste the code on it.

Now you have your own video bar!
Oh, before I forget, this is the link to the You Tube video bar customization page.
